Brent is a senior litigator with over 30 years of experience bringing and responding to claims related to shareholder and partnership disputes, commercial contracts, real estate development, construction and contaminated sites. He works closely with his clients to develop astute and effective legal strategies, tailored to their specific needs and goals. Brent understands the stakes of litigation and its impact on reputation and commercial focus. Prior to joining Nixon Wenger, Brent was a partner in a large full service Vancouver law firm.
He has acted as trial and appellate counsel in a range of business disputes and regulatory proceedings on behalf of entrepreneurs, corporations, and institutional clients. He is listed as a leading corporate and commercial litigator in The Best Lawyers in Canada since 2019. Brent also has significant experience using the tools of confidential mediation and arbitration to resolve contested matters.

Arbitration Decision
In a recent lengthy and complex confidential arbitration of significant financial disputes arising from a joint venture agreement respecting the development of the Kitimat LNG project and Prince Rupert Harbour, Brent obtained a multimillion dollar award in favour of the claimants for the respondent’s breach of the JV agreement and fiduciary duties as managing partner.
